The Mother of all Messes!!
Gaawwdd! my house is just the biggest mess right now!! The girls have new bedroom furniture and we are in the midst of setting up new beds changing rooms and rearranging furniture aaaand sorting the girls clothes out from what doesn't fit them anymore!!!!! Heehee we are all such GIRLS cause everyday one of us is complaining about not having any clothes to wear and yetif you could just see the piles of clothes that are covering all three bedroom floors right now you would probably want to slap me!!! Oh hehe BTW its my Birthday Today!!!! Happy Birthday to me!!! (god i love my kids!! breakfast in bed is the best!!!) I am a bit wary of the surprise that is in store for me this afternoon, i don't really like surprises i think i have had too many bad experiences! Anyway no housework today and that includes the girls rooms!! (lol we live in a 2 storey house so if we all stay downstairs no one will see the mess anyway!!)
Hey don't those bikkies look delicious!!!

First they put away the dealers,
keep our kids safe and off the street.
Then they put away the prostitutes,
keep married men cloistered at home.
Then they shooed away the bums,
then they beat and bashed the queers,
turned away asylum-seekers,
fed us suspicions and fears.
We didn't raise our voice,
we didn't make a fuss.
It's funny there was no one left to notice
when they came for us.
This is from a song called Regaining Consciousness, From a band called NOFX

Easy Chocolate Truffles & Chocolate Crackles
Dont ya think these belong in a gourmet cookbook?? The girls and I were supposed to go to the Spring into Corrimal Fair yesterday only it poured rain for most of the day so we decided to stay home and make chocolates and craft stuff!! Jess made the yummiest Chocolate Crackles and Izza and Sam made the Awesomest Chocolate Truffles while i was the official Tastetester!!
Recipe for The Girls Chocolate Truffles
1 packet of milk arrowroot biscuits, crushed
1 can of condensed milk
1 tbs of drinking chocolate powder
Make sure the biscuits are well crushed and then mix in the chocolate powder and then mix in the condensed milk, mix really well and then roll a teaspoonful into a ball and place on waxed paper.
When you are finished, roll the balls in the drinking chocolate or toasted coconut and shake off the excess. Refrigerate for about 30mins and then they are ready to serve!

I got this recipe from 101 Cookbooks, I think we might have this for lunch tomorrow! Curried Apple Couscous Recipe
I suspect you could make this with plums with good results as well.
4 tablespoons unsalted butter1 tablespoon curry powder1 medium apple, cored and chopped3 green onions, washed, trimmed, and thinly sliced1 cup whole wheat couscous (or regular)1 3/4 cup water1 teaspoon sea salt1/2 cup pine nuts, toastedSmall handful of mint, chopped
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat add 3 tablespoons of the butter, the curry powder, and a couple generous pinches of salt, and cook for a minute or until the spices are fragrant. Stir in the chopped apples and cook for about 3 minutes, enough time for the apples to soften up a bit and absorb some of the curry. Scoop the apples from the pan and set aside in a separate bowl.
In the same pan, again over medium-high heat, add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Stir in the green onions, let them soften up a bit and then add the water and salt. Bring to a boil, stir in the couscous, cover and remove from heat. Steam for 5 to 10 minutes and then use a fork to fluff up the couscous. Stir in the apples, pine nuts, and chopped mint. Season with more salt and curry powder to taste.
Serves 6.

There were lots of rides and one of Izzys friends dad was working on the dodgem cars so he gave the girls a couple of rides for free on the dodgem cars and then gave the girls a handful of tickets to go on some other rides!! My Nachos and Tacos are better...
We decided to try this Mexican restaurant in Wollongong tonight, we cook tacos and nachos all the time at home but tonight it was decide the real thing was in order. Well, i think we will continue to cook nachos and tacos at home cause it just wasn't all that great. The restaurant itself was really funky, very Mexican, great atmosphere and kid friendly ( big points in our books lol) but well i don't know what to say really except that the kids told me my tacos and nachos were way yummier!!!oh my strawberry margurita was gross to, it was so dissapointing cause it looked so delicious but it tasted like !?#@.

“Hand in hand, P. Nut Butter and Choc O. Late dance through this brownie ballroom. The perfect couple twists and turns to the confectionery beat of peanut butter cups and the symphony of peanut butter frosting.”
Lol, a quote from somewhere, i forget, my brain is tooo fuddled by all this looking at chocolate.
THE EAT-A-BUG COOKBOOK33 Ways to Cook Grasshoppers, Ants, Water Bugs, Spiders, Centipedes and Their Kin
"Waiter, there's a fly in my soup!" Or wait . . . maybe it's a katydid, a silkworm, or a tasty young bee.Anything's possible at the Eat-A-Bug Cafe, otherwise known as the kitchen of naturalist David George Gordon, entomological epicure extraordinaire.
Gordon has gone to the ends of the earth, to his backyard, and under the refrigerator to find culinary inspiration, and now, after years of experimentation with entomophagy (that's bug-eating, for those of you in the cheap seats), he presents the results with relish . . . or at least a light cream sauce.
Now you too can tantalize and terrify your family and friends with Gordon's one-of-a-kind recipes, including the ever popular Fried Green Tomato Hornworm (the Whistle Stop Cafe was never like this!)
Anecdotes, insights and culinary tips (such as the right wine to serve with scorpions) make this truly a book like no other. And yes, David really has eaten everything in the book (except for the 7-inch bird spiders, and that wasn't his fault!) Not only that, he's come back for seconds, as have folks who've attended his popular cooking demos.
Open your culinary horizons. Eat a bug. Buy this book.

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance. ~Franklin P. Jones
Thursday afternoon around here is group time down at the Bundy Centre and i do the beading group with a bunch of kids, even though I am a mum myself I am constantly amazed by what some kids say and do!! Most of the kids that come to group all live around here and we all walk to and from school together so its easy to get to know alot of them, many of them come from very dysfunctional families and there are alot of behavioural problems at school. But Bundy is one place where i for one have noticed a definite change in some of these kids, its run by a couple of people ( one in particular a lady who i am sure is hidin her angel wings from us!!) from a an org. called Barnado's .
There is this one little boy who 's in my group who i have seen running totally amok at school but at beading group he is one the most courteous and helpful kids i have ever met!!!!
I was a bit nervous last week when he joined our group but i have to say he was the best kid out of them all!
Now that i think of it i will have to take some pics of what they are making and post them here!!

The odds of going to the store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one. ~Erma Bombeck
